The National HEP/CAMP Association Internship was instituted by the Board in 2005. Two interns were selected for Rep. Hinojosa’s office and for the Office of Migrant Education in 2006.
Four to six current CAMP students or HEP graduates in their first year at a post-secondary institution will be selected to participate in the National HEP/CAMP Association Internship Program. The participants will travel to Washington, D.C. to take part in a ten-week internship. Expected internship placements include congressional offices, the Office of Migrant Education, and the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.
The internship program is funded by the National HEP/CAMP Association and covers housing, airfare, clothing allowance, and a stipend.
